Company History

Hagen 1923

The Westfalia Tool Company was founded by the Aschermann family in Schwerte, Germany more than 80 years ago. Today, it is the tool supplier of choice – always first for quality and price.

The company has come a long way from its humble beginnings when, in 1928, it began selling agricultural products. A mail-order service was launched in 1932, followed by publication of the company’s first catalogue a year later.

Such was the demand for its products that by 1933 Westfalia had expanded its portfolio to include 984 high quality tools aimed at almost every trade. The company also pioneered the concept of Customer Value, making its quality products affordable for everyone.

Taking full advantage of the post war boom and insatiable demand for high quality tools, Westfalia’s business flourished, expanding once again to service the demands of a new leisure market.

Today, the Westfalia catalogue is one of the most comprehensive available, offering high quality tools to the general public and professionals in a range of specialist markets.
